General Questions

Sensory input is any time any of your senses is being used or engaged. Besides your classic 5 senses of sight, smell, taste, touch, and hearing, you have many other senses that are attached to things like balance, temperature, pressure, and more. Getting sensory input simply means using any of these senses – watching sand in an hourglass (sight), lighting a scented candle (scent), swinging on a swing set (vestibular/balance), and using a weighted blanket (proprioceptive/pressure) are all examples of common ways people get sensory input.

A sensory solution is using sensory input to meet your unique needs. Many times when someone is feeling anxious, restless, or unfocused, having some extra sensory input can help bring them to a more regulated emotional state. For example, an anxious person might feel calmed by using a weighted blanket, or a child struggling to focus on homework can help re-engage their brain by using a fidget in one hand.

Our goal at Stacy’s Sensory Solutions is to help connect you with the sensory solution that best fits the needs of you or your child. Sensory input can be a powerful tool towards emotional regulation, but no two brains are built the same, so finding the right tool to fit your unique need is what we specialize in.

Vestibular input is when you give input to your vestibular system, which is attached to your sense of balance, spatial coordination, and where your body is in space. Common ways people get vestibular input (usually without realizing it) are swinging on a swing, rocking back and forth, going on a slide or roller coaster, balancing on one foot, tilting on a chair, or spinning in circles, just to name a few.

Proprioceptive input is attached to the sense of weight or pressure on your muscles and joints. Common ways people get proprioceptive input are by using a weighted blanket, wearing compression vests or shirts, getting tight hugs, crashing down onto furniture, bouncing themselves off of walls, getting a massage, or carrying heavy objects. That feeling of being squeezed, held, or compressed engages your proprioceptive sense, and many people find proprioceptive input very calming and regulating even if they don’t realize what it is.

Yes we do! Stacy often gives informative talks to educators and professionals on various topics regarding sensory input. She also offers private consultations for individuals who need one-on-one guidance on sensory challenges, and a deep understanding of sensory integration. If you are interested in either of these, please contact us.

Yes we can – our custom products are made in-house by our seamstresses, so making adjustments to best serve your needs is no problem! Just give us a call and let us know how we can help.

Our return policy allows for returns within 30 days of purchase and must be in their original condition. Refunds are issued to the original form of payment within 7 days.

United Health Care Customers

When typing in your gift card code, make sure you have included the dashes between the groups of letters and numbers.

Example: XXX-XXX-XXX-XXX

The code is NOT case-sensitive, but the dashes must be included.

If you’re including the dashes and it still isn’t working, double check all the letters and number in your code. Sometimes the letter “o” and the number zero look very similar, as well as the letter “i” and the number one.

If you’re using the dashes and you’ve checked for typos and it still isn’t working, please give us a call at 972-599-1220. We’ll help you figure out what’s going on and get your order placed over the phone.

On the top right-hand corner of the homepage, there is an icon of a gift (in between the magnifying glass icon and the person icon).

If you click the gift icon, you will see an option to “Purchase Gift Card” or “Check Balance”. Click on “Check Balance”.

It will take you to a page where there is a box labeled “Gift Card Number”. Type in your code here (including the dashes) and click the “Check Balance” button.

 You should then be able to see how much money is left on your card!

To receive your gift card, you must contact your insurance member services representative and ask them for your Stacy’s Sensory Solutions value-added benefit gift card. The cards can only be given our by your insurance, we cannot give you one.

If your total is less than the total amount of the gift card then you do not have to enter any credit card information. In the event there is a remaining balance due after you have entered your gift card, then you will be required to enter your credit card information to pay the remaining amount.

When checking out, you do not need to register an account. Registering an account will allow you to check the status of your orders, view completed orders, view items you recently looked at, and will allow you to subscribe to our newsletter.

Shipping is included in orders over $50.00 with the exception of specific large items that have an additional shipping surcharge. 

There is not an expiration date on the gift card, but the gift cards are subject to a maintenance fee after 12 months of no activity.  The fee is the lower of $6.25 or any remaining balance on the gift card.

Driscoll Health Care Customers

The Driscoll coupon codes can only work with our $75 Sensory Sets and $75 Economy Weighted Blankets. If you have something in your cart besides a Sensory Set or Economy Blanket, then your coupon won’t work.

No, feel free to use lowercase letters when entering your code. The letter “o” and the number “0” are difficult to tell apart. The letter “o” is round and fat and the number “0” skinny. Summit and Wellpoint Customers

There are a few reasons your prepaid card might not be registering.

First, make sure your card is activated. There should be a website or phone number listed on your card that you can use to activate your card.

If your card is activated, then check to see if the balance of your cart at checkout is more than the balance on your card. If it is, then it won’t allow you to check out. You cannot split a payment between your prepaid card and a credit/debit card.

If your card is active and your cart balance is within the amount of money on your card and it’s still not letting you check out, please give us a call at 972-599-1220. We will help you figure out what’s going on and help you get your order placed.

There should be a website and phone number listed on your prepaid card that will let you activate your card as well as check your balance. We are not able to check your prepaid card balance at Stacy’s Sensory Solutions.

No you do not – your prepaid card is all you will need unless you want to place more than one order. You are not able to split payments to pay for a single order with both a prepaid card and a credit/debit card, so if you wish to purchase more than is affordable with just your prepaid card, you will have place two separate orders.

SSES Grants Customers Customers

As per the homepage of the SSES website:

“Supplemental Special Education Services (SSES) are $1,500 one-time on-line grants for eligible parents/caregivers of eligible students served by special education that have been impacted by COVID-19 school closures. 

Families of eligible students can use the on-line accounts to obtain educational materials and resources and/or services such as additional speech therapy or other specific services.”

We are excited to be a DirectPay vendor with the SSES grant program! If you have received an SSES grant, then all you have to do to use it with us is to:

1. Browse our website and pick out what you’d like.

2. Send us an email at stacy@stacysss.com to tell us you have an SSES grant and what you’d like to order, as well as your name and shipping address.

3. We will send you back an invoice for these items.

4. You can submit the invoice through your SSES portal.

5. As soon as the invoice is processed, we will send your order out right away!

No, you do not need to register an account in order to shop with us.

Shipping is free for orders over $50, so as long as your order totals over that amount, you will not have to pay shipping. If your order is less than $50, then a shipping fee will be included on your invoice.
