Product Description

Crazy Aaron’s Epic Amethyst Thinking Putty  is an exceptionally bright and inspiring putty known to help with anxiety and emotional regulation. This Heat Sensitive Hypercolor thinking putty will change color with temperature differences. Watch it change from a deep purple to a bright pink as you work with it! It will bounce, pop, sculpt, snap, and stretch. It’s fun to squeeze, which makes finger and hand strengthening a little more fun. Totally moldable and malleable, this putty won’t dry out in the tin. It’s scientifically proven to provide stress relief, reduce anxiety, and assist in emotion regulation.

With this special Hypercolor putty, you can divide your putty into two even pieces. Roll each piece out so it looks like a long snake. Put one piece in the freezer for a minute to make it very cold. While you’re waiting to take it out, knead the other half in your hand to make it warm. Hold both pieces in your hand and slowly twist them together to make your putty multicolored. Then watch as it becomes one color again! Working with this putty is excellent for building hand and finger strength and providing tactile sensory input.

If your child is particularly frustrated, giving them the task of changing the putty’s color gives them a distinct goal to work on, which will help distract them from what was previously frustrating them. Once they have changed the putty’s color, engage them in a conversation to problem-solve alternative ways to accomplish the task that had caused the initial frustration.

Crazy Aaron’s Thinking Putty is designed to help target many different behaviors.

  • When your child is getting frustrated with a task, you can encourage them to take a brain break, and work on the putty. This will help children get their mind off of whatever was previously frustrating them, and give them time to process through their emotions in a safe and productive way.
  • If you child is struggling with fine motor tasks, such as buttoning their clothes or tying their shoes, hiding beads in putty and encouraging them to find the “hidden treasure” is a great activity to encourage the development of fine motor strength and coordination.
  • Putty can also be a great tool for working on Bilateral Coordination, which is improved by using both hands. To encourage engagement with the putty with both hands, suggest they stretch the putty to make “snakes!” Once they stretch it, they can use both of their hands to roll the putty on the table into an even longer snake. Finally, when their snake is too long, have them gather up all of the putty and use both of their hands to reform the putty back into a ball.

Thinking Putty is proudly Made in America by exceptional individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. They work as a team to develop vocational skills and economic self-sufficiency.
